Plockton, Loch Carron

We had a leisurely start to make slack water at Kyle Rhea. The pilot book tells of 8 knot tides and whirlpools but we cruised serenely through with the wind behind us. We then hardened up on the wind to pass under the Skye bridge before bearing away towards our destination on the mainland across the water from Skye. We only needed the motor for a few minutes at the start and end. Below is the view from the boat as we sit outside in the evening sun with a glass of White wine. The anchorage is in a quiet bay by a small village - 4 restaurants, 2 shops and 1 very good shower. The weather today has been glorious and the scenery stunning.

Just in a restaurant with Mairi Healy and Mo after a BLT charity do. Talking about the highlands and Mairi mentioned you were in the highlands. I have a place in Applecross. You can moor in Pol Creadagh, spelt wrong, near Ard Dubh just south of Applecross. Just Ask for Duncan John and you would be looked after if you mention my name. There are great restaurants in Applecross ESP 'the walled garden' or the 'applecross in' would do well.
Let me know if you need anything up there. I know most people.
Hope you love the highlands. I have a fishing boat and go to Kyle of lochalsh often. Ask Duncan John for some squat lobsters?
We have a place in Gairloch ass well. Badachro is good
All send our love
