Kyle of Lochalsh

We had a cracking sail from Rona to Portree, a distance of 10 miles. With only the spinnaker flying we hit 8.7 knots. Portree is the main town on Skye. We picked up a buoy and looked around. We decided not to stay so, with light winds, we motored the 20 miles to Kyle of Lochalsh. You can see the Skye bridge in the photo. Although our location is not pretty we are on a pontoon so can walk ashore and we were able to fill the tank with water and to replenish vital supplies, such as wine, at the local Coop. We'll eat on board and we are well placed to do the return trip through Kyle Rhea tomorrow.

No doubt they have the finest selection and best vintages available. Just dont trust those screw tops!
