East Loch Tarbert

We are now in the Firth of Clyde having passed through the Crinan canal. The day started off rainy and dull but by late morning the sun had come out and we were wearing hats and sunglasses. We passed through 2 locks yesterday and had another 13 to get through today. Unlike the Caledonian canal we had to work all the locks ourselves including pushing vast wooden beams to open and close the gates. We covered 7.4 miles to get to the sea and it took us 7.5 hours to do it. We sailed the remaining 10 miles in just over an hour and a half reaching a maximum of 8.3 knots downwind under full sail in a good breeze. We've had showers, cleaned the boat and are eating on board. No bread making today but fresh loaf promised for tomorrow.
