Fort Augustus
Very unusually there was a northerly wind and we sailed the length of Loch Ness doing over 6 knts with only the cruising chute hoisted. We're staying the night in Fort Augustus just below the staircase of locks we will ascend tomorrow. The weather has been remarkably good although not particularly warm. Lucinda and I have Sophie and David on board until we are through the canal.

Dear David and Lucinda,
Sipping on an Aberlour as I type reflecting on a fantastic week aboard Oblivion - thank you very much for the great sailing, lots of laughs and particularly good grub from the galley (thanks Lucinda!!) and the various restaurants along the way. Really was a brilliant week and I will be enviously following your progress from my desk. Bon voyage, Ant
The only time I ran aground going around Britain was in Loch Ness, try to read a bouy which when close enough said "Danger Shallow Water". Good luck with the staicase and use plenty of fenders!
